LORD JAGANNATH PAINTINGS ON CANVAS

Bhubaneswar: This Rath Yatra, art lovers in the city witnessed the vedic tale of Lord Jagannath’s coming to existence through colours. The opportunity came in the form of a painting exhibition themed ‘Mo Manara Jagannath’ around the Lord being held at State Museum, Kalinga Art Gallery. East India’s leading art institution ‘Suvadra Art Gallery’ organized a seven-day long painting exhibition ‘Mo Manar Jagannath’ with hundreds of artists in the premises of the Kalinga Art Gallery at the Odisha State Museum Bhubaneswar. Under the chairmanship of gallery chairman Dr Surya Rath, many eminent dignitaries and artists attended the event and praised the exhibition. Participating artists has been felicitated by chief guest Veteran Film actor Prashant Nanda. The vice president of the bhartiya janata party Golak Mohapatra joined as the keynote speaker and expressed the opinion that many such exhibitions organized on Mahaprabhu Sri Jagannath will be organized in the coming days. Dr Bhagyalipi Malla of the Odisha state museum, singer Panchanan Nayak and Mihir Sahu was prominently present in the closing event. Among the artists honored in today’s event are senior sculptors Ravi Narayan Rath, Pabodha Sahu, Namita Patnaik, Bandita Biswal, Jitendra Bhanja, Anurekha Jena, Saisita Naaz, Chittaranjan Mahanta, Nivedita Mahanta, Sujata Behera, Bandana Panda, Dibyasingh Swain, Kalinga Nayak, Chintaamani Biswal and Shubashree Sahu were among the prominent guests. A poetry reading session under the patronage of poet Pachanan Nayak enthralled today’s celebration. And the poet enthusiastically recited a poem written by themself prepared for the Lord Jagannath. At the end, Ashok Nayak, director of the gallery gave a vote of thanks. The program was conducted by Manoj Nayak, Sanjeev Mishra of the institute. Gallery Chairman Dr Surya Rath informed that it will be organized in the country and abroad in coming days.
